Port Harcourt - The Rivers State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has told leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state to stop embarrassing the state, reports PM News
The PDP was reacting to Wednesday's protest march by some APC leaders against the refusal of the Rivers State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Gesila Khan, to make available for inspection, the election materials used in the 11 April governorship election as ordered by the election petition tribunal.
The protest was led by the APC’s candidate in the governorship election, Dakuku Peterside and Senator Magnus Abe.
The PDP in a statement on Friday described the protest as ‘touting’ by otherwise respectable people.
The party claimed that the protest confirmed that Dakuku and his party men are irresponsible, desperate, frustrated, losing grip of events and have therefore, resorted to civil disturbance.
The party urged the APC leaders not to regard a lost election as the end of life.
