Breaking: Gunmen Kill Four Soldiers, Policeman In Bayelsa Creek

Armed men suspected to be sea pirates Friday night attacked a military checkpoint in Nembe, Bayelsa East senatorial district killing four soldiers and a policeman.

The incident occurred at about 11.30pm at the Nembe waterfront.
The hoodlums, believed to be in search of arms and ammunition, according to a security source launched the attack on the military checkpoint from land and water.

Tragedy was averted on Friday at the Murtala Muhammed Airport Terminal 2 (MMA2) in Lagos following a ground collision of two aircraft belonging to FirstNation Airways.

A similar incident had occurred at the airport on July 6, following the collision of two aircraft belonging to Emirates and Hak Air.

The police in Lagos State have arrested a part-time lecturer, Afeez Baruwa, for allegedly raping an 18-year-old girl, identified as Caroline (not real name) in the Yaba area.

Punch learnt that the victim, who was reportedly raped inside a study room, was seeking admission into the University of Lagos, Akoka.
