MFM splashes N91m on members with First Class

The Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries on Saturday gave out financial rewards of N91m to its members who graduated in First Class from different universities across the country.

The General Overseer of MFM, Dr Daniel Olukoya, made the announcement in Lagos at the monthly live broadcast programme of the church, tagged, ‘Power Must Change Hand’, which was monitored in Abuja.

He said 180 First Class graduates in the 2014 academic year and two others, who received NYSC Presidential honours after completing the National Youth Service Corps scheme, would get N500,000 each.

TWO months after leaving power,  no fewer than 12 close aides of former President Goodluck Jonathan have been stripped of their official passports.

A competent source told Saturday Vanguard that the decision to withdraw the official passports of the former aides of Dr Jonathan was to prevent misuse and conflict with new aides and officials of President Muhammadu Buhari, who assumed duties on May 29, 2015.

It could not be established last night whether the affected officials were ordered by the Presidency to surrender the passports or whether they did so voluntarily.

UK Jet Crash Leaves Four Dead

A pilot and three passengers have died after a small private jet crashed into a car auction as it was trying to land.

A blaze broke out at the auction site based at Blackbushe Airport, United Kingdom, at 3.09pm when the Phenom 300 plane ploughed into a full car park. 

All four people on board the plane were killed, said Inspector Olga Venner from Hampshire Police. She added that the airfield has been closed.

Zuckerberg announced the pregnancy on – where else – his Facebook wall on Friday afternoon.

“We've already been so fortunate for the opportunity to touch people's lives around the world -- Cilla as a doctor and educator, and me through this community and philanthropy,” Zuckerberg wrote in a lengthy post that included a photo of the couple with their dog.

wrestling star 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper dead at 61

 The pro-wrestling world lost one of its best known personalities on Friday with the death of Canadian "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, he was 61.

The WWE posted on its website that Piper, whose real name is Roderick Toombs, died on Friday, but there was no immediate word on the cause of death.

Piper was born in Saskatoon and rose to prominence in the 1980s, battling the likes of Hulk Hogan in what was then the World Wrestling Federation.

After years of designing clothes for the runway, renowned Toronto fashion designer Izzy Camilleri switched her focus to helping people in wheelchairs look their best.

Camilleri’s “IZ Adaptive” collection features clothing specifically designed to look and function best when worn while sitting in a wheelchair, unlike conventional clothes, Camilleri said, which are made to look and feel their best when standing.

Jeans in the collection, for instance, have a pitch in the back so there are no wrinkles in the front when sitting down and don’t have any back pockets to avoid pressure sores.

Jackets and coats, Camilleri said, are “cut in an ‘L’ shape” so that they don’t look folded over in a wheelchair. The collection also includes specially-made shorts, sweaters, skirts and a variety of outerwear.
