Pandemonium broke out, yesterday, in
Agbado area of Ifo Local Government Area, Ogun State
when a trigger-happy soldier shot his colleague and a 32-
year-old tricycle rider, Sunday Samuel, dead.
An eyewitness revealed that trouble started at 10 a.m.
when some soldiers stormed tricycles park in Agbado, a
border town between Ogun and Lagos states, demanding
money from the operators. This led to argument.
The source explained that the trigger-happy corporal
(names withheld) shot Samuel of Owonikoko Street, Agbado
area dead following his alleged refusal to pay.
The killer-soldier also reportedly shot his colleague who
challenged him over the killing of the tricyclist because of
his failure to give them money.
It was further gathered that the soldier took the corpse of
his colleague in a bus and fled while leaving Samuel’s
corpse at the scene.
Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations
Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, said the incident was being
handled by Ogun and Lagos States commands.
He said: “The soldiers involved in the incident have been
arrested and normalcy has returned to the place.
“I can confirm that the incident happened. But, Lagos and
Ogun states commands are handling the matter. We have
begun investigation and we will fish out the perpetrators of
the act.”
