Police operating in the boundary between the Federal Capital Territory and Niger State have recovered some vehicles allegedly stolen from an Abuja-based oil and gas company.
The breakthrough was disclosed in the Police First Information Report (PFIR) obtained by this publication in Abuja.
On Sunday morning, Maitama Police station received a distress call from the energy firm that two vehicles belonging to the company had been stolen from the said company’s premises.
Unknown suspects were blamed but two male suspects driving each of the vehicles have been arrested and taken into custody.
Police said details of the vehicles were immediately circulated to all police units for possible recovery.
Detectives were also dispatched to the scene where two security guards who keep the car keys were invited to the station for interrogation alongside the company’s driver on duty.
The Federal Capital Territory Criminal Investigation Department has commenced a probe on the matter.
