Dozens Trapped In Collapsed Building At Dolphin Estate

There are strong indication that a yet to be ascertained number of persons are currently being trapped under the rumble of a collapsed house at Dolphin Estate, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The building located at 19b HFB way, Dolphin Estate, Ikoyi, is said to have collapsed about 7.30am this morning. Presently, effort is ongoing to rescuing those trapped under the house. The Public Relations Officer (PRO), National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), Ibrahin Farinloye, who confirmed the incident to Weekly Trust said rescuers from NEMA and those from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA),officials of the Federal Fire Service and locals are currently working at the site of the collapse house. "We got information that the building collapsed around 7am today and trapping most of it occupants under. Nobody could say for now how many persons were inside the house before it collapsed. Are emergency workers from both the federal and the state are presently on ground to salvage the situation" he added. An eye witness said that the house has about six flats and that almost all the occupants were still inside by the time it collapsed. - DailyTrust
