Ogun APC Crisis: Speaker, Others Maybe Pushed Out Of Power

Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly,
Suraj Adekunbi and other members loyal to governor
Ibikunle Amosun may likely  be consumed in the feud
between Amosun and national leader of the All Progressives
Congress in the state, Chief Segun Osoba.
A reliable source revealed that shortly after the
National Executive Council, NEC, ratified  the harmonisation
in the party, the leadership has started shopping for more
loyal members of the party to replace most of the
lawmakers who were given tickets in 2011 by Osoba.
There has been simmering crisis in the APC in the state as
Osoba and Amosun were at loggerheads over the control of
the party machinery.
Adekunbi and 17 others who were selected by Osoba and
other party leaders won  the election under the platform of
defunct Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, as members of the
state House of Assembly.
It was gathered that out  of the 17 defunct ACN members,
only two were originally from the Amosun group while 16
belonged to Osoba group, before some  of them were lured
over by the governor’s camp.
But in the lobby and scheming for who controls the
leadership and structure of the House of Assembly, it was
learnt that Amosun decimated the Osoba group and was
able to ‘buy’ over the six PDP and three PPN members.
Thus, the plan by the party to make   Suraju Adekumbi,
from Yewa North the Speaker scaled through, but, the party
failed in the choice of the deputy speaker slot as it’s
candidate Hon. Adijat Oladapo-Adeleye was dramatically
replaced by Amosun’s man .
A reliable source also revealed that,  the Osoba group has
vowed to replace all the members tagged disloyal including
the Speaker for pitching tent with Amosun during the crisis.
Sequel to the move to replace them , anxiety has gripped
some of the members as they may likely dump the governor
for Osoba to salvage their sinking ships.
